Urban residential development does not take place in a vacuum. A neighborhood is made up of houses, commercial establishments, office accommodation, transportation and utilities infrastructure and schools, churches and other institutions. In many neighborhoods, it is the institutions which lead the way toward community conversation and improvement. For this reason, interaction with neighborhood institutions is a critical factor in assessing the potential for development and in working toward consensus in urban residential planning. |
